About the Zavodneys

Lynne and I desire to strengthen local churches in all the world by encouraging the treasuring of Jesus in all the Scriptures. I have a burden to serve as a pastor and to provide encouragement, discipleship, and formal theological training to church leaders in both the US and other countries. Lynne has the burden to serve Jesus in whatever ways He calls her to do so, like through discipleship, music, hospitality, biblical counseling, writing, or youth ministry.

Through the years, Jesus has given, grown, refined, and affirmed our desires for ministry and missions. We met at Cedarville University, while I pursued a Biblical Studies degree and Lynne, a teaching degree. After marriage, we journeyed to Indianapolis where I served two churches (at separate times) as a pastoral intern and earned my Master of Divinity from Indianapolis Theological Seminary (ITS), while Lynne taught, worked for a missions organization and ITS (at separate times), and will soon earn a Masters from ITS. We also had the joy of helping launch a church plant. And, we are joyfully awaiting our first child. Baby Z is a girl and will be born mid-October.

More recently, God opened the door for me to serve as a Doctoral Fellow for Dr. Jason DeRouchie while pursuing my PhD in Old Testament at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. This is the final formal step of formation before giving the rest of our days directly to ministry and missions.

In all things, we long to treasure Christ above all and urge all we encounter to do the same, for He alone is worthy of all our affection.
